The person who finds us is rarely the person who signs. This one-pager is for the meeting we won't be in: print it, attach it, forward it. Everything on it is verifiable, which is rather the point.

SpiritualTranslations — the one-page brief

Prepared for boards, committees, and publishing partners. Everything here is stated in full at spiritualtranslations.com.

The situation

Most of the writing that makes a tradition livable — commentaries, study guides, devotionals, curricula — exists in one language, because professional translation of a single book costs thousands of dollars. AI has made translation cheap, but not trustworthy: fluent output can hide real errors of meaning, and nobody signs it.

What SpiritualTranslations does

  • Translates spiritual and religious writing with AI tuned to the tradition's terminology, on a foundation approved by a human expert of that tradition.
  • Checks the work with deterministic tests and a five-lens AI review panel; a credentialed human linguist rules on every passage the system flags.
  • Delivers in weeks, at roughly a tenth of traditional agency cost, with the SpiritualTranslations Assurance Report: a signed record of how the work was checked, carrying a verification ID anyone can look up.

The evidence so far

In a first formal evaluation, an independent expert translator blind-reviewed 78 passages of baseline output (English→Portuguese): publishable-grade with light expert review; roughly four passages in five needed no human correction. One study, one language pair, one corpus — each new language pair gets its own evaluation before we sell into it.

Pricing and ownership

Wholly owned by WMOJ, a ministry; no outside investors. Prices sit near cost and are published as rules, in three tiers (mission / standard / institutional) that share cost fairly — every tier gets the same review and the same report.

The boundaries, stated plainly

  • Machine and human together — not a line-by-line human re-translation. The report states exactly what was checked, and by what.
  • We do not translate canonical scripture; a tradition's sacred text deserves a process and a community mandate beyond what we offer today.
  • We attest to the translation, not the theology, and we never claim a translation is flawless — no honest review can.
